Showcase

The final celebration and sharing of the years work. The young people showcased their Diversity Footballer Models, the timelines developed from the Heritage workshop sessions, and of course the Football Chants created with Kof. The event was also the big performance of the play developed by the young people, entitled ‘Game of Millions’.

In addition to these works, a documentary film of the process, created by film-maker Tim Brunsden, was screened, to give the audience an insight into the hard work and creative exploration that had gone into the pieces.

All the young people taking part in project received in-house certificates of achievement for their contribution to the design, development and skills gained during the project:

  • 15 yp achieved AQA Award for participating in a consultation event to plan a youth event
  • 6yp  achieved AQA Award for creating a soundscape to accompany the drama project
  • 8yp  achieved AQA Award for taking part in the art project and gaining an understanding of Diversity
  • 10 yp achieved AQA Award for making a creative art work for public display
  • 13 yp achieved AQA Award for participating in a cultural youth arts project

The event was also marked by a special presentation of the Hillsborough Memorial sculpture created by John Finlayson. John presented the sculpture to Kenny Derbyshire, Chair of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.
